BOS

Process control

Your process, enforced.

Define the steps work must pass through, automate what should be automatic, and hold what needs a human decision.

The gap is the control point

A process in BOS is a sequence with deliberate interruptions. Where a step requires approval, work stops there until somebody decides. Exceptions are recorded against the record they belong to, not in somebody's inbox.

A process with a control point Three stages run left to right. The line between the second and third is interrupted, marking an approval. A branch leaves the second stage at an angle and ends in a held state. STEPSTEP APPROVAL EXCEPTION, HELD

Conceptual diagram

Define

Process definitions and the steps a record moves through.

Automate

Rules that act on change, with an execution log you can read.

Decide

Approvals and exceptions, queued where the people who own them will see them.

Limit

Capacity ceilings, so routing does not quietly overload a person or a team.

Put the control points where they belong.
